Abstract

On 21st Century, it is the rising up generation of smartphone. Smartphone is become indispensable in people's lives. It is whether in social network, e-learning or entertainment. For examples, you want to chat with other peoples, search information, playing electronic games or listen to music. Now, all can have done on the phone by one click, APPs (Applications) makes life be more convenient and excellent. In this project, I decided to build up a smart classroom model. This classroom operation is different to the tradition classroom. Traditionally classroom is facilitated with different type of electrical equipment or accessories to help teachers in the classroom. In the past, most of control devices and facilities in classroom are using mechanical on/off switch and wiring system. Sometimes, teacher often forgot to turn off the electrical device when he/she left the room. It is resulted waste energy as well. The electrical installation works in the classroom are very complicated. My designed system is a set of control through wireless system. It contained with an Apps, Bluetooth, Arduino and PLC. The first part is use smartphone platform, the second is signal transfer through Bluetooth transmit to Arduino. And the last is hard model with PLC control. Simply said, it use and Android platform to control all devices in the classroom. I hope, I can use this system in the classroom.

Abstract

In a power distribution system of most of the buildings, A Low Voltage (L.V.) switchboard was applied to protect the system. There are different components in the switchboard (e.g. circuit breakers, over current protection relay, earth fault protection relay etc.). There are also some components for measure the power quality which is the power analyser. A power analyser (including Voltmeter, Ammeter, Multi-meter) is using to measure the power quality in the electrical power distribution system. Most of the electrical power distributions systems have been connected the power analysers to a building management system. The power analysers connected to a computer in a fixed position that means if someone wants to check the power distribution status, the person needs to go to the computer to check. In this project, a system would be made to monitoring the power status by 5G New Radio (NR) Network application with android smartphone. Since 5G NR Network can provide a theoretical peak download capacity of 20 Gigabits per second. It would be more convenient to monitoring the power status in different place by checking though in the Internet of Things (IoT)

Abstract

In every night of non-traffic hours, different jobs are conducting maintenance works in “Railway” trackside area. This project will explain a specific section of track under the sole control an Engineer’s Person-in-Charge as procedures. And how to provide protection methods by which a person or persons on or near a track are safeguarded from potential train movements or a train is safeguarded from other train movements or obstructions, or persons or equipment are safeguarded from traction power.Consolidated past several investigation reports and according to related is rules, workflow or procedures etc. to summarize. There are protection tools left on trackside area incident caused by the workers are forgetting and poor management. Proposed are different project themes in the light of their expertise, experience and observation in their daily works. The proposed themes are compared, assessed and prioritized under the criteria - “Manageable”, “Measurable”, “Result of Benefit”, “Standardization” and “Priority” in the Decision Matrix. Establish some solve problem methods for comparing to find out which that lower-cost plan accordingly. I came up with a conclusion and the ideas as develop a mobile application and create a unique QR code label with equipment naming to facilitate each worker management of protection tools. This is also fulfilled in popular terms of Creativity and Innovations. Used the MIT App Inventor (Massachusetts Institute of technology) an intuitive and visual programming preform for mobile application are development. Stage 1: program for individual mobile user application. Stage 2: build-up Network centralized storage with supervising console operation. Stage 3: testing system under with 5G network compatibility, bandwidth and network speed is applicable people will be able to use more of the network dedicated to each mobile phone.Finally, successful to apply trial works a fruitful outcome after implementation of the project solution. There was no missing of protection tools on trackside area within the trial period. With the safety-first culture boosted by us, I believe we can achieve a common goal: Everyone Going Home Safe and Well Every day.

Abstract

The current situation is that global climate change become grimmer, so it has become an important concern. Improving energy efficiency of our device is one of the measures to solve the threat of global climate change. In this circumstance, the first aims research project to design a lighting system to enhance the energy efficiency and the reliability of the lighting system of APM tunnel. Therefore, the replacement of fluorescent light to LED light is an effective way to achieve the target. In truth, substitution of fluorescent lighting to LED light has been promoted for a long time and have a lot of successful examples in the world. It is because LED light has better luminous efficiency to provide similar brightness with less power. In term of reliability, the lifespan of LED light is much higher than fluorescent light. However, the actual lifespan of LED is easily deteriorated by high temperature environment so provide a suitable environment for LED is very important to let LED light reach its theoretical lifespan. Artificial intelligence has been the hottest topic of technology industry in recent years. It has already applied in daily life such as speech recognition in Apple Siri and face recognition in security system. Consequently, the second aims of research project is using artificial intelligence technology to reduce the workload of frontline maintenance staff. The development of lightings inspection system based on ‘Convolutional Neural Network’ technology to analyst the image taken by camera to identify burnt out light tube inside the APM Tunnel.
